FINTRAC legislation sets out that effective June 23rd, 2008, when a REALTOR receive funds in any form and any amount, we must keep a receipt of funds record and identify the client who gave or provided the funds.
What does it means:
RE/MAX Riviera 2000 Realty Inc. and its sales representatives are required by law to ask for and verify your personal information. By providing this information when requested, you will ensure that they can meet their legal obligations.
ID PLEASE
Under the new rules, RE/MAX Riviera 2000 Realty Inc. are required to obtain, record and retain the personal information of all their clients (buyers and sellers), including date of birth and occupation. To do this, you will be asked to show a government –issued identification document such as a driver’s license, passport or residency card. Provincial Health cards are not accepted in Ontario.
